LoanShift LLC (“LoanShift,” “we,” “us”) operates an AI-powered student loan analysis and document preparation platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

When you use LoanShift, we collect:

• Loan profile data: loan types, balances, disbursement dates, current repayment plan, and monthly payment amounts
• Financial profile data: adjusted gross income (AGI), family size, number of dependents, and tax filing status
• Employment data: public service employer status and PSLF payment count (if applicable)
• Contact information: email address (optional)
• Usage data: referral source, analysis results, and feature usage

How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide to:

• Generate your personalized student loan analysis
• Prepare and deliver requested document forms
• Send you deadline reminders, regulatory updates, and account communications
• Improve our analysis accuracy, content, and product features
• Generate anonymized, aggregated insights about student loan trends and borrower behavior. Aggregated insights never include personally identifiable information and may be shared with researchers, policy organizations, or commercial partners.
• Comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud or misuse

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your identifiable data with third parties for their marketing purposes.

AI Processing

Your loan and financial data is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate your personalized analysis. Under our commercial agreement with Anthropic, your data is not used for model training. Only the minimum data necessary to produce your analysis is transmitted, and Anthropic does not retain your data beyond the duration of the API request.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party processors to operate our service:

• Supabase — database hosting and authentication
• Stripe — payment processing (if you purchase documents or a subscription)
• Anthropic (Claude API) — AI-powered analysis generation
• Vercel — web hosting and serverless functions
• Resend — transactional email delivery

Each processor is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

Data Retention

• Borrower records: retained for 7 years in accordance with federal financial recordkeeping standards
• Deleted account data: permanently purged within 90 days of a deletion request
• Payment records: retained as required by financial regulations (typically 7 years)
• Email and communication preferences: retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion

Data Security

Your data is stored in encrypted databases with industry-standard security practices. All data transmission uses TLS encryption. Access to production data is restricted to essential personnel only.

Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users within 72 hours via email. We will also notify relevant regulatory authorities as required by applicable law.

Data Deletion

You can request deletion of all your personal data at any time by contacting us at hello@loanshift.ai. We will process your request and permanently purge your data within 90 days. Some data may be retained as required by law (e.g., payment records for tax compliance).

Your Rights
